About The Event
One of the most frequently asked questions we are asked is, 'How do i deal with my child's school?' Many therapeutic parents feel frustrated, undermined and disempowered by well-meaning teaching staff, who stick firmly to tried and trusted methods which seem to work well with securely attached children.
Join Dave Edwards to help understand the importance of working with your child’s school, and how this benefits the child, parent/guardian, and school.
During this 4 week programme we will be looking at the importance of working with your child’s school, understanding what a parent/guardian can do when your child is having difficulties at school. You will be able to gain a knowledge of what kind of support can be offered from the school and identify the options available to parents when school just isn’t working for your child.
One of the most important services we can do for our children is to identify an attachment aware school for them. It is esssential not only that the school understands the effects of trauma and what therapeutic parents are trying to do, but that the therapeutic parent is proactive in ensuring information is shared effectively.
